1.overview
For this project, I illustrated and designed the cover for The Walrus, a Canadian magazine known for its journalism, social commentary, and fiction. The cover was created for an issue with a humorous title, and my goal was to create a design that would stand out while capturing the lighthearted tone of the issue.
Process
I started by researching The Walrus and its past covers to draw inspiration and understand the diverse range of visual styles they’ve used. For this project, I chose a vector illustration approach, incorporating a gradient and textured background to create depth and visual interest, ensuring it was bold and memorable.
3.outcome
The final cover design successfully captured the humor of the issue through a bold, modern illustration. The use of gradients and textures added depth, making the cover visually engaging and unique. It was a fun and creative project to illustrate, allowing me to explore playful design elements while delivering a standout cover for the magazine.
